En Flandre, les élèves jusqu’à la 4e secondaire devront laisser leurs smartphones de côté dès la rentrée.
La commission Enseignement du parlement flamand a approuvé jeudi un projet de décret qui interdit aux élèves l’utilisation d’un téléphone portable ou tout autre appareil connecté à l’école.
La mesure, qui sera effective dès la prochaine rentrée scolaire, s’appliquera à tout l’enseignement fondamental (maternel et primaire), ainsi que jusqu’à la fin de la 4e secondaire
Pour le dernier degré du secondaire, chaque école pourra toutefois décider pour elle-même.
Selon la ministre de l’Education Zuhal Demir (N-VA), la mesure vise à améliorer la concentration des élèves ainsi que le climat scolaire. L’objectif est aussi d’encourager les élèves à être plus actifs durant les pauses et de renforcer la protection de la vie privée des enseignants.
La Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles s’est dotée en février dernier d’une législation plus ou moins similaire. Celle-ci sera aussi d’application dès la rentrée prochaine.
